VAT (Value Added Tax)
When you have a valid VAT number of any country in the European Community, it is important that you correctly fill in your VAT number in you profile (you'll have a chance to verify in the next screen). Being an EEC based company, we have to respect the European VAT legislation:
- If you live in United Kingdom (strictly speaking: if delivery is in United Kingdom), we will charge you VAT. If you have a valid United Kingdom VAT number, you can reclaim this VAT from your Tax office.
- If you live inside the European Union (outside United Kingdom) and you are not a VAT-registered organisation, which means that you do not have a valid VAT number of any EEC country, we will charge you VAT.
- If you live inside the European Union (outside United Kingdom) and you are a VAT-registered organisation, which means that you do have a valid VAT number of an EEC country, we will not charge you any VAT.
- If you live outside the European Union: we will not charge you any VAT.
In some countries of the European Community, some VAT numbers are registered only for trade within the country itself and not for international business. These national-only VAT numbers are not valid. If you have such national-only VAT number, please ask the VAT-authorities of your country to validate your VAT number for international transactions.
With every order we will check the indicated VAT number for validity on the official web-site of the EEC. If your VAT number is not regarded as valid by this website, our system will reject your VAT number and regard you as non-VAT registered. You can do the same VAT number verification yourself on the official web-site of the EEC.
